Hi folks
does anyone know of a Twitter client, or better still a social network aggregator (ie downloads feeds from Twitter, FaceAche etc).

I have the Yahoo app on my iPhone that combines the social network sites, and Socialite on the Mac that does the above and Google Reader feeds.

It would be great to be able to do this on my J720.

GedWise on RedGear

Just heard about RedGear and need someone with the program and knowledge to answer a specific question for me.

I would like to know if RedGear would allow me to run the GEDWISE program, written for the PC.

This program can be downloaded at the following site:

http://www.batteryparksoftware.com/

If someone can verify that it will run, then I plan on purchasing RedGear.

Thanks

Disable Redgear to run upon soft reset?

Redgear is a great piece of work for sure. That's why I bought it in a heartbeat. Yet from time to time I just want it to run whenever I like it to, instead of having it run in the background by default. The reason is while redgear gets many useful PPC apps to work, it runs into conflict with quite a few HPC apps. Besides those reported in this forum, some useful apps misbehave with Redgear on, like TascalRegEdit (simply doesn't launch) and PocektRAR (menu bar disappear). Frankly I find it a bit inconvenient always having to disable Redgear upon a soft reset.

So my question is: is there a simple tweak, like editing a registry entry, that can disable redgear to run automatically?
It will also come very handy if I can set Redgear on/off with just one button/tap.

Jornada 720

Hi,
I’m new on here, and signed up with the hope of getting the Jornada 720 that I got off EBay to work properly online.

I’ve managed to setup the Cisco 350 wireless card and got online without too much trouble, the problem I’ve got though is when on Google’s Home page, I get an error message stating that ‘The connection with the server was reset’ when I try and sign into my account. I notice that this also happens with other sites. After reading up on the subject, I found that the J720 OS software does have problems with secure sites because it’s a bit dated; PC2000, IE 4.01.
Though I thought I got round the problem by installing Tweaks2k2, http://www.tweaks2k2.com/HPCTweaks.htm which alters the registry to make it read as PIE 5.5 or 6, I found that I still get the same error message and at bit of a loss as what to do next.
I recently stumbled across RedGear which enables Opera mobile v8.65 to be used, though I have also noticed that this version is no longer available for download.

My question is, anyone any idea what the error message means, and will using RegGear/Opera option solve it? Also, will the Cisco 350 card still operate the same, or will it require a different driver?
Thanks

Opera 8.65 problems with RG

Hi,
I bought RedGear for my Jornada 720, to run Opera mobile. I installed both, and it runs, but there is some problems- opera opens several web pages (3-4) and than it just stops loading anymore. Bottom panel shows: completed request and it sometimes even freezes with whole system. Sometimes, it loads more pages and sometimes it does this after first request. There is enough storage and program memory, and cache is set to 2MB. Sometomes there is also problem that I click the link, and it don!t open it (I have to alt+tap and click open in new window, it works).
I really don't know, where is the problem, if it could work the way it does when everything is ok, it would be great browser...
Settings - recognise as desktop PC, use cookies and cache etc. And it!s not an internet connection problem, because in another browser it works without problem... Thanx for any help !!!

Question 2: anyone found a java emulator working well with RG?

I have decided to make some very minor revisions for a final v1.0.1 release, which I hope will resolve some of the most common problems many people are having.

- Try to fix incompatibility with Wincesoft GAPI
- Try to make TCPMP/CorePlayer work (if not fixed by previous item)
- Try to fix functionality on select CE 4.1 devices (Airpanel, Sigmarion)
- GUI option to disable RedGear on startup (if previous item doesn't help)

Please post any other requests here. Note that I will not be making any improvements to software compatibility or other major changes. I will only be making minor fixes to help RedGear get along with preexisting software and hardware better.

Hi there,

I have problems installing my 3Com XJack Wifi Card on Jornada 720 and Jornada 728.
The driver is installed and listed correctly in the network devices promt. But the tool wich is bound to the driver shuts down with an error.

Where can I get your WLAN Monitor? I read something about it but can't find a download or something else.

Thanks for your help.

Opera works with redgear, but it saves my passwords, for example the password for gmail.

I do not want Opera to save passwords for security reasons, so tried to go to settings to see if it is possible to disable password saving, but the setting windows is so small that it is impossible to use it.

Is it possible to do something about that?
